Day of the Dead Mexican Style Belt Buckle

This embellished buckle has a Day of the Dead skull focal that I made from a Talavera tile. I shaved the image off the tile and set it into polymer clay. It’s surrounded by turquoise blue glass beads. I covered the skull and beads in resin for protection. The antique silver rope style frame is edged with small multi colored metal beads with tiny silver etchings around the middle. The black clay background is sparsely colored with reddish metallic wax and there is a scattering of millefiori glass flowers around the skull.
The buckle has a hook and D ring to use with a snap belt up to 1 1/2 inches.
