Turritella Fossil Belt Buckle for Men or Women -- Rustic Gemstone Buckle--Original One of a Kind. This unique buckle will suit any style, from boho hippie to western and southwestern. Unique with polished agate made of turritella, each stone is full of tiny turritella fossils which are any of several species of gastropods (snails) abundantly represented in fossil form from the Cretaceous Period, which began about 144 million years ago. You won't be seeing this agate much on a belt buckle! An absolute conversation piece.

I applied the agates into black epoxy clay that I slightly high lighted with gold metallic wax before applying the stones. The pewter buckle is slightly ornate and the color is actually copper although it does occasionally show as gold in the pics, for whatever reason. I highlighted the ornate areas with the gold metallic wax which brings out the patterns on the buckle and adds contrast to the stones.

The buckle has a hook and D ring to use with a snap belt up to 1 1/2 inches.

Dimensions: 3 3/4 x 2 3/4
